Munich Arena groundwork starts

Construction has begun on what is set to be Germany’s largest purpose-built concert and live entertainment arena. Due to open in 2009, the 20,000-capacity Munich Arena is expected to host around 1.5 million attendees and boost the local economy by around €350m.
